The wish
Two store owners were feuding over who could get more business. It so happened that the stores they owned were across the street from each other and the fighting became quite fierce as one would calumniate the other right in front of their customers. After a long while of this, an angel watching from heaven got sick of seeing the fighting and came down to one of the store owners. "Look," he said, "I'm sick of watching you too fight. So to teach you a lesson, I'm going to grant you one wish - anything you want; money, customers, whatever. But your companion across the street will get TWICE whatever you do. Make your wish." After a few moments of thought, the one owner said "Ok, Angel. I've got it. Strike me blind in one eye.”
